Decided to take a stab at writing a YA novel. I recently signed up for an online YA Novel Writing Class through MediaBistro.com. If you don’t about Media Bistro, you should check them out. They’ve got a How To Pitch section which, for members, gives you advice on pitching magazine articles to almost any publication you can think of. A couple years ago I took a Journalism Bootcamp class in Hollywood with them. A crash course in Journalism taught by an former war correspondent. Then I took a seminar on YA writing and I think I found my novel writing. I’ve never taken an online class. There are eleven women in the class from all over the country. Assignment One had us post two ideas for a novel. Then each classmate is to comment on each other’s ideas. We are notified via email. I keep checking my in box for more comments and they keep coming. This online class is becoming more addictive then Facebook.
